How To Accept Payments With Stripe for WordPress

Payment Page creates a Stripe-powered payment form on WordPress without requiring a WooCommerce store. The form supports one-time and defined recurring plans, with payment-method availability depending on the connected Stripe account and each form’s country, currency, browser, device, and recurring configuration.
What Payment Page exposes through Stripe
The gateway settings include cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, SEPA Direct Debit, Alipay, and WeChat Pay. ACH Direct Debit through Stripe Financial Connections is available with Pro. A method appearing in the plugin does not mean it is available for every Stripe account or every plan.
The free plugin applies a 2% Payment Page platform fee to Stripe transactions. Pro changes that Payment Page fee to 0%; Stripe’s own processing fees and terms still apply.
How to set up Stripe on WordPress
- Install and activate Payment Page.
- Start Stripe Connect onboarding from the Payment Page gateway screen and complete Stripe’s flow for the intended account.
- Create a form or import a Payment Form Template.
- Configure a one-time plan or one of the available recurring intervals: daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, every six months, annually, or every three years.
- Enable only payment methods compatible with the account, country, currency, device, browser, and billing type.
- Place the form with its shortcode or native Elementor widget and verify it in Stripe test mode before enabling live payments.
Stripe controls Connect onboarding and account eligibility, so setup time varies by account.
Build the form around the actual payment
Use a fixed amount for a known price, or let the payer enter a custom amount for a donation or invoice. Custom fields can collect relevant non-card information, and query parameters can prefill supported fields. Payment details are collected through Stripe Elements; the WordPress site still needs normal security, privacy, access-control, and compliance practices.
Payment Form Templates design the standalone form. Elementor Page Templates design the complete page around it.
Choose the narrowest supported configuration
Start with the gateway, amount, billing interval, and fields the payment actually needs. Show applicable limitations beside the form, test success and failure paths, and confirm the connected account’s eligibility before accepting live payments.
