How Online Tutors Can Create a WordPress Payment Form

An online tutor can use Payment Page to publish a focused WordPress form for a session fee, package, invoice, or supported recurring plan. The plugin collects the payment and configured form details; it does not provide lesson scheduling, course delivery, attendance, student records, or a teaching marketplace.
Choose what the learner is paying for
Use a fixed one-time amount for a known session or package, a custom amount when the payer must enter an agreed invoice value, or a Stripe recurring plan for a continuing arrangement. Recurring intervals are daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, every six months, annually, and every three years. Choose an interval only when it accurately represents the tutoring agreement.
Match the gateway to the billing type
- Stripe supports the plugin's one-time and defined recurring plans, subject to account, country, currency, method, browser, device, and transaction eligibility.
- PayPal Standard Checkout is available as a separate one-time-only gateway in Payment Page.
- ACH Direct Debit through Stripe Financial Connections is available with Pro and depends on Stripe eligibility.
The Free plugin applies a 2% Payment Page platform fee to Stripe transactions, while Pro changes that Payment Page fee to 0%. Provider processing fees and terms remain separate.
Keep student and payment details separate
Use customer fields for the payer's normal details and a custom field for a non-sensitive reference such as tutor name, subject, package, or invoice number. Query-prefill can place supported reference values into the form when a tutor sends a specific link. Do not put private student records, passwords, or unnecessary personal information in URL parameters or ordinary payment-form fields.
Explain what happens after payment
Configure a success message and confirmation email that identify the purchased session or package. A redirect can send the payer to a separate scheduling or course page when the tutor already operates one, but that external service is not built into Payment Page. An HTTP action can notify another system after a successful payment when the tutor has configured and secured that workflow.
Publish and test the tutor form
- Start with a blank form or the Online Tutor Payment Form Template.
- Set the amount, currency, and one-time or supported recurring interval.
- Add only the payer and reference fields required for follow-up.
- Place the form with its shortcode or the native Elementor widget.
- Test validation, eligible methods, success and failure messages, and any email or redirect in the appropriate provider test environment.
